Goutam Karmakar dreamt of a small eating out stall where the food and beverage would be served in a different manner. People visiting the stall will have different ambience, that could be a coffee house for hot and cold beverage or a roadside dhaba on highway. Gautam’s perseverance and innovations have made 3 outlets, one at the Ground Floor of Mani Square Mall, one in front of Salt Lake City Center and the third on EM By pass one km from Ultadanga.
Goutam has kept the name Goutam’s and made it a trademark to compete with the brands in this age of globalization and thrives to compete with the global player with his limited capacity. He has kept in his mind few things, quality and variety of food, fast service, hospitality and the ambience. It could be a homely atmosphere or a place of adda with sophistication. Today, Goutam is a name in the beverage and food in Kolkata. All credit to those who had made Gotam’s head high.
While driving down EM By Pass in Salt Lake, if you get an aroma of mouth leaking food, it is Goutam’s, the little coffee shop of 2001 has grown to a eating outlet like that of Dhaba on the Highway. The dark brown brew, hot or cold mixed with Masalla, or Keshar, Icecream or lemon, make the taste different. The snacks non-veg or veg cooked and served through different counter makes Gautam’s a special phenomena to those who wants to enjoy the evening, specially the week end.
The first shop of Goutam’s opened in 2001 at the EM By Pass 1 km ahead Ultadanaga to Salt Lake Stadium. Today its is big eating outlet like that of a Dhaba on Highway. The reason, people make a stop here, is to have a quick bite and the good service. Motorbykes and Cars jostle for parking after late evening to get the specials of Gautam’s.
The second outlet is in the ground floor of Mani Square Mall on EM By Pass in Salt Lake. It is an open air restaurant by the side of Ground Floor Card Parking Bay. For a hang out, it is the ideal place to go for adda with family members or friends. Even guests are served food in their cars in the parking zone. Goutam’s is not a costly proposition as that of Food Court in the Mall, yet serves equally good food that can compete with any brand. There are good experimentation Goutam’s has done with Cold Coffee with Ice cream, Soda Sikanza or Masalla Coke within a reasonable rate. The Hot and Cold Coffee with Ice cream or Masalla/Keshar, The blossom and shakes with different fruits make Goutam’s beverages a special of it kind. The healthy food from Roll to Kabab, Chowmin to Chaap are the tongue twisters. There are separate cookhouse for Veg and non-veg foods.
The third outlet is right infront of Salt Lake City Center below the Metro Rail track where you can sit, gossip over the similar menu in a different ambience with your family and friends.
